Agastya Gurukulam, the power seat of Bharateeya education, is a place where learning is not a routine task but an exhilarating experience. The Gurukulam has two campuses—one in Bangalore and one in Houston—where in-person schooling is conducted. Our campuses provide a stimulating environment for students to explore and discover their true potential.
We aim to inculcate the traditional Bharateeya method of education that flourished across India in the pre-Macaulay era. (Please take a look at Education System in Ancient India and The Beautiful Tree for more details about our amazing indigenous education system.)
Four years later, Agastya Gurukulam stands as the alma mater for hundreds of students and nurtures hundreds more through our complete schooling program for kindergarten to 8th graders. Currently, we are pursuing accreditation and hoping to expand our campuses to accommodate students up to Grade 12.
Our Gurukulam’s syllabus is meticulously curated with Indic subjects such as kanthasthikaranam, samskritam, ganitam, itihasa-bhoogolam, vignanam, yoga, kalaripayattu, maatrubhasha, visual arts, Bharateeya Itihasa, and chess.
In the future, we also hope to admit students for part-time learning to study selected core subjects. It will either be an elementary or middle school facilitating students to join mainstream institutions or continue homeschooling after middle school graduation.
Our Gurukulam is an institution that provides full-time Bharateeya education. It is not a supplementary school where children can learn alongside regular education. We intend to keep it this way since the pursuit of two various educational pathways will be too much of a burden on young minds.
However, we refer students aspiring to learn Samskritam and Bharateeya Itihasa to other Agastya Gurukulam programs like Kutoohalam, Jignasa, and Pragnyaa. We may also offer limited seats for home-schooled children who wish to learn specific subjects. Agastya Gurukulam also gives priority to siblings of current students during enrollment.
